Growing up in an artistic family in Hollywood, Marcie has been involved in a vast array of creative endeavors. By the age of 15, she was recruited to work alongside Hollywood celebrity photographer Peter Borsari and received her first professional portrait commissions, including shooting parties and weddings for Hollywood celebrities.
She received her Bachelor’s degree, graduating with honors from UC Santa Cruz as a double major in Art History and Studio Art, with a photography emphasis and modern dance minor. Upon graduation, she worked professionally for 4 years in Los Angeles and Spain both as a photographer and as a prop and wardrobe stylist on corporate campaigns, such as Honda, Princess Cruises, and Microsoft.
In 1995, Marcie began a professional acting and solo-performance career, studying at USC, Yale and with celebrated acting coach Richard Seyd. She performed throughout California, participating in productions with Campo Santo, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Theatreworks, sharing the stage with Bonnie and John Raitt, John Fleck and the screen with Tilda Swinton and Peter Coyote, in Lynn Hershman-Leeson’s film “Strange Culture”, which created buzz on the world-wide film festival circuit, including Sundance Film Festival.
